8 Best Homemade Honey Beauty Recipes

Honey is an ancient beauty aid. Its moisture-rich, antimicrobial properties make it the perfect moisturizer for your skin and hair. I am in love with these recipes, they are so simple and they use ingredients that most women would have at home already, so no extra cost!

There is no excuse not to pamper yourself. These are very quick, great for a busy mother’s lifestyle. I  put it in my schedule to at least use one of these per week. This is achievable and makes a difference!

Before you begin, make sure you have raw, unfiltered, preferably organic honey.

1. Simple Honey Face Mask

After rinsing your face with warm water, simply apply honey directly to your face in a thin layer. Leave this honey mask on for about 25 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Finish up with cool water to tighten up your pores. This mask can be repeated weekly.

2. Honey Bath

Add 1/3 cup of honey to hot bath water and soak. Add a a few drops each of lavender essential oil and sandalwood essential oil. Make sure you use 100%pure essential oils, like the ones in the links I provided.

3. Body Scrub or Facial Exfoliant

Mix:
* 1 cup honey
* 1 cup coarse sea salt or kosher salt
* 1/4 cup oil such as sweet almond oil or olive oil

Apply to skin with a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly.

4. Lemon and Honey Sugar Scrub

Mix:

* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2tbsp melted coconut or olive oil
* 2tbsp honey
* juice of 1 lemon

Use on your face, neck and hands. You can keep this on for 20 minutes if you wish. The results are amazing. Lemon juice is known to fade ages spots too. So, if you have age spots you are wishing to fade, apply lemon juice on the spots daily. Apple cider vinegar works great too (if it is too strong, dilute with a little water).

5. Hair Conditioner

Add 1 teaspoon of honey to your conditioner. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse out.

6. Deep Conditioning

Moisture-rich honey makes an excellent hair conditioner. Mix:
* 1/4 cup honey
* 2 tablespoons olive or sweet almond oil
* 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel (you can scrape this out of your aloe plant yourself or purchase pure aloe vera gel here. Love, love, love aloe vera. I keep a plant at home so as to use anytime I wish. It helps tighten skin and reduce age spots also!

Work this mixture through damp hair and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse.

7. Honey-Cucumber Facial Mask

In a blender or mortar and pestle, puree a peeled cucumber with a tablespoon of honey. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for half an hour. Rinse.

8. Overnight Lip Balm

Mix a teaspoon of honey with 1/4 teaspoon of coconut oil. Blend and apply to lips before bedtime.

Enjoy,  you deserve to pamper yourself!
